Artscape Spring and Summer 2025

 

Esti Beauchemin, is a mixed media artist who was born in Los Angeles and raised in the Inland Empire. She has lived in Riverside for over 10 years and is publicly active in the art community since 2019. She has been creating art as young as 13 years old. She is currently attending CSU Long Beach with a focus on Biomedical Engineering. Her work aims to blur the lines between science and art.


Sarah Ceja, a mixed-media artist from Moreno Valley, CA, inspired by suburban landscapes and personal memories, she works in photography, printmaking, painting, and more. Currently studying Studio Art at Cal State San Bernardino, her work has been featured in Dotphozine and the 52nd Annual Student Exhibition at RAFFMA, while also working as a freelance photographer.


Kristine Overacre, A visual artist based in Riverside, California, has lived in the city for the past three years, with her new body of work reflecting this change after previous stints in Ojai and San Diego. A professional artist since 2009, she has exhibited at Shrine New York, various venues in San Diego and Ojai, and public spaces in Austin, Texas, while also enjoying renovating older buildings and hiking Mount Rubidoux. 


Natalia Elizalde, is a painter from Riverside. Natalia has been creating art from the age of 17, and is currently applying for university to continue working towards her degree in Fine Arts. Natalia’s art has been featured all around Norco College campus. In her free time, she loves to read, and is very inspired to tell her stories with art. She hopes her art can take her all around the world and hopes to inspire many with the stories she tells.


Aeen Harry, a mixed-media artist from La Mirada, CA, has lived in Riverside since 2014 and recently expanded into canvas painting, completing over 60 works in the past three years. Set to graduate from Riverside Community College in 2025, she also works as a hair artist, enjoys redesigning antique furniture, and has showcased her work on social media and at the Riverside Art Walk.

Sheryl Stradling, a mixed media abstract artist based in Menifee since 2021, has been creating art since childhood and studied at Western Washington University and Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle. With local exhibitions in Riverside, Menifee, Fallbrook, Temecula, and Dorland Mountain Arts Colony, she continues her spiritual journey through art while semi-retired, working from her home studio and pursuing interests in writing, meditation, Tai chi, organic gardening, and home remodeling.


Janeth Carrillo, an ink stippling artist from Riverside, CA, has been creating art since age six and began stippling at fifteen. Currently studying at Riverside City College, her work has been shown at the Garcia Center for the Arts and RCC art gallery, and she hopes to have her art displayed globally.


Amaya Hoover, a mixed- media artist from Moreno Valley, CA, has been creating art since age 5 and began taking it seriously around 14. Currently pursuing an associate degree in Studio Art at MVC, they plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Illustration and hope to work in character design or become an art teacher, with their art showcased locally at Moreno Valley College.


Johnny Alvarado, a painter born in West Covina and raised in various places, now dedicates himself to full-time art after previously studying at UC Riverside. Drawing inspiration from the whimsical aspects of reality, his work has been showcased at Artist in the Alley in Pomona and Dreamland in Rancho Cucamonga, and he hopes to spark deeper thought and leave a lasting impact.


Kamelyta Noor, 

an abstract expressive fingerpainter from Malaysia who has called Moreno Valley home since 1998, began painting in 2017 using vibrant acrylics to express her emotions through a brilliant palette of colors. Her work, showcased at galleries including the Perimeter Gallery, Hive Gallery, Riverside Art Museum, and San Bernardino County Museum, tells stories of her life and emotions, aiming to evoke the same powerful feelings in viewers as she experiences through her art.


María Hermila Castañeda, originally from Zacatecas, Mexico, moved to Riverside County in 1995 and has showcased her crochet work in multiple Brooklyn gallery exhibits with the ‘There, There’ art group. As the proud owner of Botanica Moreno in Moreno Valley for nearly 30 years, this is her first California-based show.


Ciara Kim, a mixed-media artist born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, moved to California at age 8 and began her artistic journey in Riverside in 2023. Currently pursuing a Studio Art degree at UCR, she combines collage and poetry in her work to create emotionally charged pieces, performing live paint demos at Riverside Artswalks and aiming to inspire and support others through her art.


Gil Hayes, is an oil painter born and raised in Riverside. Gil has been creating art since childhood and has been oil painting for more than 30yrs. Gil has shown work at The Makery Los Angeles, Ave 50 Studio, The Nuestra Institute & KGB Gallery among others. Gil formerly had a studio in the Life Arts Center downtown Riverside but now works in a space near Sycamore Canyon.


Ariel Randolph, a self-taught mixed-media artist based in Riverside, blends whimsical, circus-themed, and anime-inspired elements in her work, often exploring mental health and alternative lifestyles. As a RAM Art Educator, she showcases her art at events like Riverside Art Walk and aims to promote emotional intelligence while supporting creative communities through a future art supply closet.


Mariana Rodela, 

an interdisciplinary artist specializing in sculpture and video, began creating art at age 12 and holds an undergraduate degree from UC Riverside and an MFA from UC Santa Barbara. Her work has been shown at venues including UCR ARTS, the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara, and Cal State Long Beach School of Art, and she currently resides and works in Lake Elsinore.


Amanda Luna, is a painter born in Orange and raised in Riverside. Creating art since the age of 12, she now uses her work as a creative and emotional outlet while beginning to share it with others. In addition to painting, she enjoys juggling and playing Beat Saber. Amanda plans to return to school in 2025 to complete her AA in Graphic Design.


Lisette Bourne, a lens-based artist from Southern California, has been creating photographic images since age 5 and became serious about her art at 16. Now the Visual and Performing Arts Teacher at MLKHS and Photography Educator at Riverside STEM High School, Lisette recently exhibited at The Makery in Los Angeles and co-curated “Getting The Band Back Together” at Claremont Graduate University.


Joseph Martinez, a visual artist from Thermal, California, has used photography and fashion since age 16 to explore identity, masculinity, and queerness. Now based in Riverside, their work focuses on culture, gender, and marginalized communities, with pieces shown at the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art and Riverside County Artscape, aiming to challenge stereotypes and promote inclusion.
