J Villa Murillo is an artist born in Ensenada, Mexico, and raised in Lake Elsinore, California. Known for his imaginative and creative spirit, he made a bold leap in 2021 by leaving his job and traveling to Wisconsin to collaborate with New World Order, a multidisciplinary creative platform, to showcase his artwork.
In 2022, a chance encounter with the CEO of High Flows Capitol, while selling paintings on the beach, led to a breakthrough opportunity that secured a studio space in San Diego, where he now creates art professionally. Currently working as a freelance artist, J continues to build his presence in the local art scene, most recently exhibiting at Palette & Poetry in Los Angeles.
One of J’s aspirations this year is to host a solo art show in a prestigious venue—complete with champagne and a touch of elegance. His work invites viewers to connect on their terms, encouraging exploration of the emotions his art evokes, whether they are comforting or confrontational.
When he’s not painting, J enjoys cycling, spending time in the park with his dog, and treating himself to a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Dirt Cake ice cream.
