Andrea Austin:
Andrea Austin is an artist and art teacher who has lived in Riverside county for 15 years. She has taught instructional art classes for an afterschool nonprofit. She has been a part of many exhibits in Southern California including exhibits for the Corona public library, Moreno Valley art loan program and Day of Dead events and art festivals. Her most recent exhibit was for the San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health exhibit for Mental Health awareness month. She was just appointed as a commissioner for the Moreno Valley Arts Commission. Her goal is to share her artwork and inspire others to be creative.
Chris Bautista (Abomb Creations):
Chris Bautista, aka Abomb Creations, is a painter, sculptor and toy maker originally from Santa Ana now a resident in Mira Loma Riverside for the last 15 years. Chris is a self-taught artist who has been professionally producing his art since 2019 and has interned at Division 9 Gallery in Downtown Riverside. Chris has spent time assisting artists ManOne in murals throughout Pomona and Orange County. Chris has had his artwork displayed at galleries in San Bernardino, Riverside and Plaza De La Raza in Los Angeles. A lot of the inspiration for Bautista’s artwork comes from childhood experiences, Hispanic culture and Graffiti subculture. Aside from the art world, Chris lives locally on a ranch with over 200 animals including turkeys, horses, chickens, roosters, ducks, pigeons and 8 dogs. Art is an escape from ranch life. Bautista’s goal is to have his art shared with everyone and inspire troubled youth to pursue their art in positive and constructive ways.
Becky Cornwell:
Becky Cornwell, a Riverside native, developed her passion for art at a young age, initially through self-taught drawing. Her artistic journey expanded to painting during high school at Ontario High. Despite life's demands, she remains dedicated to her craft. Becky holds an AA degree in Art and general education from RCC Riverside Community College. For the past 23 years, she has worked in the Moreno Valley City library, using art as a stress reliever and source of relaxation. Her art has been showcased at City Hall and the mall library in Moreno Valley. She has honed her skills in various mediums, from pencil and acrylics to oil pastels, watercolors, pens, and gel pens, showcasing her versatility. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Becky enjoys fishing and connecting with nature. She has exhibited her art at events like the Art Fest.
Lisa Cabrera:
Lisa Cabrera is a mixed media artist who has lived and worked in Lake Elsinore since 2014. Lisa has been creating her artwork since she was five years old and is currently freelancing. She will be exhibiting her work in a few upcoming festivals and exhibitions. Lisa has shown her work at the Ontario Museum of History & Art, the Chaffey Community Museum of Art, the Ontario International Airport, the Temecula Valley Museum, and the Temecula Civic Center. Lisa has been contracted for design work for utility boxes and other projects with the cities of Ontario and Temecula. Lisa enjoys reading, live music, and movies. She is currently working on building her repertoire of artwork collections and is looking forward to including more travel in the future to open more opportunities for creating and exhibitions.
Diana Campos:
Born in Los Angeles, CA, Diana Campos is a photographer currently residing in Moreno Valley. She rediscovered her passion for photography while attending the University of California, Riverside in 2020. With heavy coursework as a sociology major, Diana turned to photography to maintain a healthy balance between school, family, and leisure time. In 2021, she co-founded Cruisin’ Thru the Lens, an IE-based photography group highlighting lowrider culture. The group hosts an annual photography exhibit and car show as well as smaller car shows throughout the year. Diana hopes Cruisin’ Thru the Lens will continue its momentum and continue celebrating the lowrider culture. She also continues to grow and learn in all other aspects of photography.
Emmanuel Camacho Larios (Emme):
Emmanuel Camacho Larios (Emme) is a first generation Mexican American Artist born in Jalisco, Mexico, in 2000, and now residing in Riverside, CA. Emmanuel is a fine multimedia artist who creates social, political, and personal artworks. He has exhibited multiple works at the UC Davis Basement gallery and other galleries like Tlaloc based in LA. He was awarded and nominated for his excellence in sculpture and performance. In addition, Emmanuel has collaborated in seminars with renowned artists through the California Studio, also housed at the University of California Davis. The underlying threads that flow through his works are ritual, shifting weights, decay, and mourning. His process of repetition and arrangement allows for the dwelling and intervention of heavy themes related to migration and marginalization. His work is interdisciplinary but heavily utilizes sculptural and performative methods to visualize these ideas.
Carlene Cruz:
Carlene Cruz, a Los Angeles native now residing in Riverside since 2000, is a multifaceted mixed media artist who began her artistic journey at 19. She holds a copyright for her work "Pin the Binky on the Monkey," a baby shower game, and currently volunteers by designing greeting cards for foster children in Riverside. Her artistic passion finds expression in painting on wood and creating yard decorations.
Hailey Cisneros:
Hailey Cisneros, a mixed-media artist hailing from Riverside, California, has been immersed in the world of art since the age of 11. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts, she thrives on creativity. Hailey's preferred mediums include acrylic and oil paints, pastels, and watercolors. Her artistic journey has led her to take part in the Riverside and San Bernardino Art Walks, as well as contributing artwork to various local exhibitions. Her aspirations encompass a desire to continue showcasing her art in exhibitions and expanding her presence in art markets, with the goal of reaching a broader audience and furthering her artistic career.
Ashlyn Craig:
Ashlyn Craig, a Temecula native, is a versatile mixed media artist and polymer clay jewelry maker. Her lifelong passion for art has evolved into a career, and she holds a BA in Visual Art from Point Loma Nazarene University, with a focus on Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking, awarded in 2021. Ashlyn's artistic journey has taken her to various exhibitions, including the Oceanside Museum of Art and galleries at PLNU, such as Love and Keller Galleries. She has also actively participated in pop-up gallery events in both Temecula and San Diego. Her creative talents extend beyond traditional art spaces, with public murals adorning San Diego and Tustin, California. Outside of her artistic pursuits, Ashlyn finds joy in cooking and baking, dabbling in amateur gardening, and tuning in to podcasts during her commute to and from art and makers markets.
Cristina del Carmen Sandoval:
Cristina del Carmen Sandoval, an accomplished painter from El Monte, CA, now residing in Eastvale for the past four years, has been honing her artistic skills since childhood. She holds a BFA in Studio Arts with a minor in Design Arts from Cal State San Bernardino, where she received multiple awards and honors. Cristina's art has been showcased internationally, notably in Florence, Italy, and at CSUSB. Her work draws from her Mexican and Bolivian heritage, influenced by traditional Italian art, and she enjoys pushing the boundaries of traditional mediums. In her free time, Cristina engages in TTRPGs with friends and raises canaries with her mother.
Ovando de Jesus Castillon Urrutia:
Ovando de Jesus Castillon Urrutia, an acrylic painter born in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, immigrated to Riverside at the age of 11. They have been actively engaged in artistic pursuits since the tender age of 5 and currently attend Heritage High School in Menifee. Notably, Ovando has gained recognition in the Congressional Art Competition, with their work showcased in the Capitol building in Washington, D.C.. Ovando aspires to become an art professor and envisions leading an organization dedicated to promoting art and supporting Mexican American artists' communities nationwide.
Adrian Gonzalez Morales:
Adrian Gonzalez Morales is a versatile artist proficient in painting and photography. Born in Mexico, raised in Anaheim, and a Riverside resident since 2015, his artistic journey has spanned several years, with his creative inclinations taking root as early as middle school. Notably, he has featured his artwork in numerous publications, primarily during his tenure dedicated to advocacy work for Immigrant Rights. Presently, Adrian's artistic focus is centered on his painting endeavors, as well as his penchant for capturing the essence of flowers, street scenes, and the natural world through his photography. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Adrian finds joy in revisiting movies and television series multiple times, showcasing his penchant for cinematic appreciation.
Bonnie Gutierrez:
Bonnie Gutierrez is a professional photographer hailing from Garden Grove, California, and has been a resident of Riverside since 2015. Her foray into Cyanotype photography commenced in 2020, during a period of furlough from her position at the Disneyland Hotel. Notably, Bonnie has proactively contributed one of her images to the annual auction organized by Las Fotos Project and is scheduled to participate in the forthcoming Resurgence exhibition hosted at the Desert Art Woman Gallery in Cathedral City. Her future aspirations include a deeper exploration of diverse alternative photography techniques.
Leonor Hamel:
Lenore Hamel, a versatile artist with over 20 years of experience, now resides in Riverside County, where she teaches high school art. Her work has graced exhibitions like Off the Wall at RAM, SAC gallery in Santa Ana, and the San Pedro Arts Walk. She's an active member of the Photographers Artist Network. Lenore's creative pursuits extend to photography, painting, ceramics, hiking, and nature appreciation. Her future plans involve exploring double exposure photography, painting, and documenting evolving rural landscapes affected by human encroachment. She's also committed to environmental and wildlife conservation efforts.
Frankie Lee:
Frankie Lee is a painter, mixed media artist who was born and raised in Orange CA and moved to Riverside County in 2018. Frankie-Lee has been creating art from the time he was age 5 and is currently attending school Riverside Community College working towards achieving a certificate in graphic communications. Frankie-Lee has shown his work at Riverside Art Museum, First St. Gallery as well as others. He has collaborated with numerous social justice organizations, developing their creative elements. Frankie-Lee has taught art to children and adults within the autism spectrum. In his free time, he loves to make commissions and enjoys skateboarding. Frankie hopes to create a safer and healthier future with his art.
Joseph U. Lozano Jr.:
Joseph U. Lozano Jr., a seasoned artist specializing in oil on canvas, hails from California and spent his formative years in Pico Rivera before making Riverside County, particularly the City of Eastvale, his home in 2002. With a distinguished 38-year career at the U.S. Post Office, Joseph's retirement has granted him the opportunity to wholeheartedly pursue his artistic passions. Despite his introverted nature, Joseph's inherent creative talents were recognized by teachers during his youth, though his shyness often hindered their full exploration. Joseph's journey through a challenging childhood, coupled with a lack of nurturing support for his interests, only fueled his fascination with various creative disciplines, from woodworking to interior design and crafts. His self-guided exploration led him to master oil on canvas creations, with each canvas meticulously crafted by his own hand. Now in retirement, Joseph aspires to connect with fellow Riverside artists, contributing his unique perspective to the local art scene. Through his work, he seeks to bridge personal experiences with art that tells compelling stories. As he joins the community of Riverside artists, Joseph anticipates the growth, camaraderie, and inspiration this artistic journey will bring.
Nancy Martin:
Nancy Martin is a mixed media visual artist, who was born in Bellflower, Los Angeles and raised in Moreno Valley, Ca. Nancy has been creating art since the age of 5. She currently lives and creates works out of her home studio in Menifee, Ca. Nancy is also an art wellness facilitator guiding people through creating art as a form of healing and an Art educator virtually for children ages 6-16. Nancy has shown her work at Eastside Arthouse, Creative Grounds, and Lake Elsinore Women’s Club, Yucaipa Performing Arts. She hopes to be able to share with more people what she has discovered with art, that “art is a way of connecting to spirituality” as well as can be used as a tool to aid people to heal from traumatic experiences. Nancy would like to continue to develop her skills in painting, teaching and continue to bring the knowledge and spiritual guidance from art that she receives to the community.
Juan Moncada:
Juan Moncada, a Riverside native, is a seasoned mixed media artist with a lifelong dedication to his craft. His artistic journey began at the young age of 5, and today, he specializes in the captivating world of caricature art. Over the years, Juan has exhibited his work at various venues throughout the region, showcasing his talent and passion for the art form.
Natasha Morrison:
Natasha Morrison is a painter and figurative artist born in Santa Monica and raised in Riverside California. She discovered her love of art from an early age, sparking a lifelong commitment to creative exploration and self-expression. Having recently graduated from Riverside City College, Natasha is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts at UCR with the aim of becoming an art professor. Natasha has exhibited her work at local galleries including the Quad Art Gallery and the Pain Sugar Gallery, and she continually seeks out opportunities to engage with fellow artists and art enthusiasts. Beyond the canvas, Natasha is a bug enthusiast and avid explorer. She can often be found pinning insects or exploring Riverside's natural surroundings. Her multidimensional interests serve to enrich her artistic perspective and contribute to her unique creative voice. Looking ahead, Natasha envisions her artistic journey leading her to embrace new mediums and techniques, pushing the boundaries of her own creativity.
Erika Moe:
Erika Moe, a Murrieta native and mixed-media artist, began her artistic journey at the tender age of two, and after a brief detour in a different career path and overcoming personal challenges, she's rekindled her passion for art. Her vibrant work has been showcased in Orange County, and she aims to bring her bold, colorful creations back to Murrieta. Erika draws inspiration from nature, existence, wildlife, and environmental conservation, inspired by her childhood idol, Wyland. She's now embracing her artistic aspirations as a legitimate path forward, determined to follow her passion for art.
Ariel Randolph:
Ariel Randolph, a Riverside, California-based artist, specializes in creating unique artwork that blends elements of cute, macabre, surrealism, and illustration. Inspired by animators like Rebecca Sugar and Max Fleischer, Ariel infuses her work with whimsical charm and a touch of darkness, translating her personal journey and emotions into visual narratives that explore the human psyche. Since 2017, she has shared her art at popup events in Perris and Riverside, connecting with a vibrant community. Her portfolio includes paintings, stickers, and prints, capturing both the light and dark sides of life, resonating with viewers. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Ariel serves as an Art to Go instructor at the Riverside Art Museum, inspiring young students in the Riverside School District.
Julie Rose:
Julie Rose is a Riverside-based artist creating professionally since 2009. As a mixed-media painter she utilizes experimental and traditional techniques in acrylic, oil, gouache, and spray paints to create her figurative art. Her body of work highlights diverse feminine beauty and is inspired by international stories and culture. She is a member at the Eastside Arthouse, and her pieces have been featured in Riversider magazine and Be Local magazine.
Estelle Shay:
Estelle Shay is a painter who was born and raised in New Jersey and came to Southern California in 1978. Estelle has been painting in acrylics for about five years, having experimented with various artistic mediums throughout her adult life. Currently retired, she enjoys taking art classes at the Janet Goeske Senior Center, and has studied under renowned animal artist Johanne Mangi. She won several honors for her wildlife paintings, which were based on photographic reference she and her husband gathered during twenty years of travel to Africa. One of her paintings was selected by Artscape for display at the Riverside County Administrative Building in 2020, and she has also displayed and sold her work at the Riverside Art Museum's "Off the Wall" annual fundraiser. She was awarded an Honorable Mention for another of her paintings in the National Arts Program Virtual Open Exhibit in 2020. Estelle began specializing in doing dog portraits several years ago, and has done many of them for friends and family, but is now experimenting with doing people portraits and landscapes, as well, based on her extensive travels with her husband Don to destinations throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Nella Sirena:
Nella Sirena, a Mexican-Venezuelan artist, born in Mexico City in 1986 and raised globally, has used her art as a tool for connection and change. In 2022, she co-founded VNvibez. Her artwork has been exhibited worldwide. Notably, she collaborated on a mural for Overflow Farms in 2021 and participated in the "Still I Rise" exhibition in June 2023. She has a six-month residency at The Hive Art Gallery in LA, where her work is displayed until November 2023. Nella is not only a painter but also a skilled henna artist, blending her passion with a touch of Mexican influence in her unique henna mix. She is deeply connected to animals and enjoys hiking and playing musical instruments like the djembe and ukulele. Her art serves as a platform to advocate for unity and equality within brown and black communities, making a meaningful difference in the world.
Kelly Tapia:
Kelly Tapia is a mixed media artist raised in Riverside County. Kelly has been creating art from the age of twelve and will be studying film at UCSD. Kelly has painted two murals at her middle school and has won 2nd place for the Congressional Art Competition in 2022 and 3rd in 2023. Her hobbies include photography, making jewelry, and playing piano. She would like her art to open doors to new experiences and to be able to share something with the world.
Jessie Zaylia:
Jessie Zaylia is a painter who was raised in scattered cities across Southern California. She first moved to Riverside County in 2011 and returned in 2020 after living in Los Angeles. Jessie has been creating art since she was eighteen years old and is currently exhibiting pieces around the country. Jessie has a painting hanging within the chambers of the United States Supreme Court and has exhibited her work in California-juried and nationally juried exhibits. She loves local vegan food and is dedicated to animal rights and human equity. Her artistic goals include evolving her abstract work to highlight the mistreatment of animals to encourage collective reflection and social change.
