ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: June 2024

Rafael Mejia, born in 1992, is a Southern California painter who graduated Summa Cum Laude from Laguna College of Art & Design with a BFA in 2023, having attended Riverside Community College; Rafael has built a notable career as an artist. His exhibitions include the "Origins" duo show at Pain Sugar Gallery and the BFA 2024 Fine Arts Exhibition at LCAD Gallery. 

He has also showcased his work at The Future of the Figure in Billis Williams Gallery and the Altura Credit Union Artist Reach at The Cheech Center, among others. Rafael's talent has been recognized with several awards, including the Altura Credit Union Artist Reach Spotlight, LCAD Merit Scholarship, and the Plotkin Award. His artistic journey has been featured in publications such as the Riverside Artswalk June Artists Spotlight and an interview by Altura Credit Union Artist Reach.
