Creative Career Pipeline

Building pathways from early creative exploration to mentorship, professional development, paid opportunities, and careers in the creative economy.

Riverside Arts Council creative career pipeline program

About the Pipeline

Creative growth needs real next steps

RAC’s Creative Career Pipeline connects young people, emerging artists, Creative Workforce Fellowship fellows, teaching artists, and community partners to opportunities that help creative talent grow over time.

The pipeline begins with accessible creative learning and continues through workshops, mentorship, Creative Workforce Fellowship placements, public presentation, artist opportunities, and pathways into paid creative work.

Why It Matters

Creative careers are built through access, guidance, and opportunity.

By connecting education, mentorship, community programs, professional development, and real-world experience, RAC helps artists and young creatives see a future for themselves in the arts.

Pathway

From first spark to creative workforce

01

Creative Exposure

Youth and community members experience the arts through workshops, events, exhibitions, public programs, and hands-on creative activities.

02

Skill Building

Participants develop creative skills through guided instruction, workshops, teaching artists, peer learning, and repeated opportunities to practice.

03

Mentorship

Emerging creatives connect with artists, arts administrators, cultural workers, and community partners who can share knowledge and encouragement.

04

Public Presentation

Participants gain confidence by sharing work through exhibitions, events, community showcases, performances, and public-facing creative projects.

05

Professional Experience

Creative Workforce Fellowship placements, volunteer roles, artist calls, vendor opportunities, and project support help participants understand how creative work happens in practice.
